Estadio Santiago Bernabeu

So here it is, the classic Bernabeu stadium which has graced some of the best football players in the world. It is a truly magnificent stadium and very steep so that you feel that you are right above the pitch!

The tour around the stadium only cost around £5 which is brilliant as we were able to check out the stadium, museum, changing rooms and even sit in the manager's chair!!

I did try and get some of the hallowed grass while we were walking alongside the pitch! I couldn't resist! Unfortunately the security guard caught me with a clump of fresh grass in my hand and confronted with such evidence he didn't look too happy!!

I had to open my hand and simply watch the dead grass slip away in the wind hoping that somehow it made up for my heinous crime!

Obviously not!

Madrid

In late October I headed to Madrid for a weekend break with the folks and a few of their friends. After going to Spain earlier in the summer it was great to reignite the taste buds with some more Spanish food and the gorgeous coffee!!

The bullring was pretty impressive and I managed to get a good photo of a statue in front of the building (see above).

Plaza Major was brilliant as the sun came out for a short while just as we were getting into our mosto, which is grape juice (non alcoholic of course)!

Here's me sampling some more of the culinary delights of Madrid!! It is a massive city and there are lots of things to do or see, so check it out if you can.

Back in Bristol

After staying with the family friends for six months near work I finally found a place in a brilliant location in central Bristol. The flat is really spacious and offers great views over Bristol.

It is good to be back playing with the same football team I played with whilst at university, and many of the lads are still there! There are still a few university friends around too so all good!
